UNS N06601 (Inconel 601)
Generic Name & Synonyms
Inconel 601®, Alloy 601, Nickel Alloy 601,W.Nr. 2.4851, NiCr23Fe, NC23Fe
Product Overview
UNS N06601 (commonly designated Inconel 601) is a nickel-chromium-iron engineering material modified with aluminum. This alloy is widely recognized for its unrivaled resistance to high-temperature oxidation and thermal scaling.
The chromium and aluminum combination forms a dual-protective oxide layer that shields the alloy matrix against carburizing, oxidizing, and nitriding atmospheres, making it the premier choice for extreme thermal processing equipment.
Key Highlights
✅ Aluminum-Doped Oxide Scale: Addition of 1.2–1.7% aluminum creates a tightly adherent alumina oxide film (Al2O3) that resists spalling even under severe thermal cycling.
✅ Outstanding Heat Resistance: Retains mechanical toughness and oxidation resistance in continuous operational temperatures up to 1250°C (2200°F).
✅ Superior Carburization Protection: Resists carbon ingress in petrochemical thermal cracking reactors and industrial heat-treating furnaces.
✅ Good Creep-Rupture Strength: Designed for load-bearing structural service at temperatures where other alloys suffer rapid scaling or deformation.
✅ Direct Supply Solutions by BELNADE: Available in custom plate sizes, seamless tubes, and heat-exchanger components with international accreditation.
