UNS N06617 (Inconel 617)
Generic Name & Other Names
Inconel 617, Alloy 617, Nickel Alloy 617,W.Nr. 2.4663, NiCr21Co12Mo (DIN/EN)
Product Overview
UNS N06617 (widely known as Inconel 617) is a solid-solution strengthened nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy engineered for ultra-high temperature structural applications.
The precise synergy of cobalt, molybdenum, and chromium yields high creep strength above 870°C (1600°F) paired with oxidation resistance. It is one of the few materials approved for high-temperature pressure vessel construction under ASME Code cases.
Key Highlights
✅ Exceptional Creep-Rupture Strength Above 950°C: Cobalt (12.5%) and molybdenum (9%) matrix strengthening delivers long-term load-carrying capability at extreme temperatures.
✅ High-Temperature Corrosion Resistance: Exceptional stability against cyclic oxidation, carburization, and high-temperature green-rot degradation up to 1100°C (2000°F).
✅ Excellent Weldability: Joining can be executed using conventional TIG/MIG processes with minimal risk of hot cracking or embrittlement.
✅ Thermal Fatigue Resistance: Outstanding structural resistance to frequent heating and cooling cycles without thermal cracking.
✅ Global Project Supply by BELNADE: Seamless pipes, heavy plates, and welding consumables for power generation projects.
